News from the Press Trust of India, Government release about the salary hike for Central Public Sector Undertakings - PSU's. This has come at a time when the mood in the job sector is looking grim.
So in a way this is a bonanza to officers of PSU's in India - the hike percentage will be around 50-300% in pay packaged. The effective date of this PSU Salary hike will be from January 1 2007.

According to PTI News -
While the new pay structure would be implementable from January 1, 2007, the new allowances would accrue to employees only after the decision is notified by individual units.
The Cabinet relied on the Committee of Secretaries recommendations to classify PSUs into four categories - A, B, C and D, instead of five categories - A+, A, B, C and D recommended by the Rao Committee in May.
The chairman of 'A' category PSU will now be eligible for Rs 80,000 to 1,25,000 pay scale as against Rs 18,500 to 23,900 currently. PTI

oh! my god this is huge hike.
This can divert employment from private to public.
it is just eye wash , hike is only around 30 % it is mearge
Government used Media to show the hype which is wrong. It is only 30% against recommendation of 42% of Rao Committe. Govt is trying to finish the revenue generating Public Sector by equating everybody in one basket. Oil sector, Power sector who are the backbone of Indian Economy and growth are totally overlooked by the IAS lobby.
The real hike will be clear only when the boards of the concerned PSUs take the final decision. The Govt decision is only a guideline.
This is the worst pay revision in the history of public sector undertakings.IAS lobby is working overtime to finish the bestperforming undertakings like power and oil.With this pay scale talent will migrate to pvt sector .
