As you all know till last year the colleges used to give the details for renewal candidates, now from this year such candidates have to submit applications online themselves, take print-outs and submit the same in their colleges. The colleges will submit such applications to field officers of the department.

Field officers on verification of these applications and physical verification of candidates recommend renewal to the district officers.

Fresh applications for 2009-10 will have to be made online from August 11 on the SBMS official website www.sbms.ap.gov.in. Here on this site you can get the complete information regarding this and also check the status of you application online. Sanction of pending SBMS applications of 2008-09 will be completed by July 31 - this is as per the SWD official and a press not on The Hindu.

OBC quota of 50% in UP Colleges

As per the latest Government order in Uttar Pradesh all the private engineering colleges and management colleges will have to reserve 50 % of the seats to students from OBC category (Other Backward Caste).

This was an issue with management representatives from private engineering and management colleges in the state approaching the court against this order. The government had also taken the legal view of the case and decided to go ahead with the enforcement of the quota in these colleges.

At the time of affiliation of the private colleges they had given an undertaking to follow all the rules of Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU).

At the current time of the year where entrance exams are over and the results are also declared, many students are eagerly waiting for the admissions and counseling process to begin. Hopefully this order will expedite things and the counseling for State Entrance Examination (SEE) organized by the UPTU will start soon.

Important Instructions to the Candidates:
All candidates who have qualified the B. Pharm./B. PT. joint entrance test should submit the admission form duly filled in to the respective department where he/she wants to seek admission. Separate forms should be submitted to both departments if one wants to be considered for admission to both courses.
