Punjab Police Male Constables jobs

The Punjab police is recruiting 5578 male constables to fill up vacancies in various districts of Punjab. The details of the vacancies are as under.

District wise vacancies: Bathinda - 485, Muktsar - 388, Mansa - 291, Ferozepur - 388, Moga - 291, Faridkot - 388, Patiala - 388, Fatehgarh Sahib - 97, Barnala - 194, SAS Nagar - 145, Sangrur - 146, Ludhiana - 48 ( Rural) & 534 (C.P.) , Khanna - 49, Ropar - 48, Jalandhar - 437 (Rural) & 485 (C.P.), SBS Nagar - 49, Hoshiarpur - 145, Kapurthala - 49, Amritsar - 48 (Rural) & 339 (C.P.), Taran Taran - 49, Batala - 48, Gurdaspur - 49.

Pay Scale : Rs.5910-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.1900/- & the posts shall also carry other allowances as admissible under Government instruction/rules. The selected candidates will be included under "Defined Contribution Pension Scheme" of the State Government.

Only Indian Nationals may apply.

Age limit : 18-25 Years (as on 01.09.2010)

Qualification: The minimum educational qualification for the Punjab Police Recruitment 2010 is 10+2 in any discipline or equivalent. It is compulsory for each applicant to have passed matriculation examination with Punjabi as compulsory/optional subject. However, in case of Ex-Servicemen the minimum education qualification will be matriculation.

Method of Selection: Selection shall be made by the District Recruitment Board. Selection process would comprise of three phases.
(A) Physical Measurement
(B) Physical Efficiency Test
(C) Interview

Candidates who qualify in terms of age and educational qualification, must qualify in height (minimum 5'7") and then, are put through the Physical efficiency test. Candidates will also have to undergo a medical test in order to qualify for the vacancy.

How to Apply: Application forms are available in the offices of Police Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police in all districts of Punjab from 15/09/2010 to 07/10/2010 on payment of Rs.100.
